Peyman Khazeni


Peyman Khazeni (born in 1983 in Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian composer and Tar player

Peyman Khazeni was born in Tehran to an artistic family. He began studying music at the age of 5 in Centre of Music. Continuing his music studies under various teachers such as Keivan_Saket ,Hengameh Akhavan, Amir eslami, Farhad Fakhreddini, Nader Mashayekhi and Ramin Behna. He is also a Ba graduate of Anthropology and Musical composition.In teenage time, he was invited to Vaziri orchestra and later as a solist between 2001- 2003. At the same time, he performed extensively in duet and trio form which was innovative for its new style of composition (Tar-Qanun, Tar-Accordion, Tar-Classical Guitar) that had led to an album entitled Pleasantry in 2008. He established Basha Ensemble at the same time . He has composed music for some of famous vocalists such as Salar Aghili, Sina Sarlak, Ali Rostamian, Mohsen Keramati, Alireza Ghorbnai and Parvaz Homay. He has also composed music for theatres, films,famous Tv series,Motion pictures and musical theatres in Iran. He was nominated and the winner for the best original music at “Mah theatre festival” in 2010. He was also the representer of Iranian music at Unesco noruz festival(Flame Festival) along with Basha ensemble in New Delhi, India in 2016. His performances of Persian music and his many released albums in various forms such as traditional, Persian classical, instrumental and fusion attached the audiences in years. In 2015, when an album composed by him entitled “ I love you Ancient land” released, caused some controversial issues for the female vocalist in the album.
